Upholstery
As much as I love the 964, I'm pretty sure the budget had run out when it came to the interior. Plenty of vinyl, silverknit furry carpets, black head liner all added to the feel of a 90s nightclub. The interior needed some major work and has been completely redesigned to reflect the charm of the late 60s and early 70s cars.
The sport seats are covered in black leather with a black and white hounds tooth fabric centre matching the design of the rear seats. All the vinyl has been replaced with luxurious leather, carpets are the original salt-and-pepper German Haargarn. The door cards are RS America style in black leather with a red leather pull strap and handle from the 993 RS America. I changed the old black head liner for an ivory German vinyl one, which gives the cabin a brighter feel. The gear lever is now aluminium with a solid-feel gear knob.
The sounds
I used a Bluetooth streaming retro-look head unit that is built into the dash, the front speakers are JL Audio and the rears are Kicker that fit into the original speaker grills. They are powered by a mini 200 Watt Pioneer amp - which sounds great.
The dash
No more vinyl! The dash pad is now leather covered and the old vinyl console pieces sport luscious black leather. I revamped the dash trim with a custom aluminium insert covered with black basket-weave leather. Your eye will be caught by the custom offset tacho in red, after you've detected the a MOMO Prototipo leather steering wheel.
