1958-Corvette-front

Allow me to introduce Doris, my belle from St Louis

Doris started life in 1958, and came to Australia in 2011, wanting lots of TLC. After 3 years hiding in my garage, she re-appeared in the lime light end 2014 to be admired for her beauty again.

Since then, she has won many awards.

2015NSWCorvette-awards

At the NSW Corvette Club 'Show & shine' in October 2014

  • she was recognised as the best C1 (1st generation Corvette)

  • she was rewarded for having the best engine bay of all cars

  • and the public also gave her the people's choice award. I am most proud of that award!

At the National Corvette Convention in April 2015, she won the only award available: best C1

Doris featured on Car Torque on Channel 10 on 2 May 2015

What makes Doris so special?

Doris is my vision of a Corvette: beautiful classic lines, a comfortable ride. Here is where the story starts...

The hidden secret

Lurking beneath that classic 50s exterior is a whole new modern power plant that not only drives beautifully, it looks pretty impressive too!

The conversion

The interior was always beautifully designed. I kept it true to the original GM look but with the steering where we like it ...... on the right side!

A touch of luxury

Electric power windows, power steering, key-less ignition, central locking, air conditioning and retro vintage radio make the driving experience that more luxurious.

A body to die for

How do you get a 50+ year old body to look better than the day it rolled of the assembly line in St Louis?

The reveal....

Thanks to Richard Furhoff photography for making this belle shine in his shots.
